Nuit Blanche Winnipeg is a free nighttime exploration and celebration of contemporary art where artists, galleries, cultural organizations and independent curators create and host their own events around the city. These events are FREE to the public and encourage and celebrate arts and culture in our community.
In addition, each year an open call is held for the "Illuminate the Night" program, welcoming artists to propose pieces that will enhance the audience experience of Nuit Blanche Winnipeg. Projects are selected by a jury of artists and art professionals and are featured in Winnipeg’s downtown core.
This year Nuit Blanche Winnipeg is expanding its dates to coincide with Culture Days, running from September 24 - October 24. Illuminate the Night projects will be accessible all four weeks, while independently-registered events will be available at various dates throughout the month. Many of the events for 2021 will utilize outdoor spaces so dress for the weather. All indoor and outdoor locations will follow current public health regulations regarding capacity, physical distancing, use of masks, and/or requirements for proof of vaccination --- check each listing for more information.
