We look forward to engaging with you, and challenging our perspectives together!

Join us at the MT Space Hub, where you’ll be engaged in conversations with regional artists and community members, and be able to reflect on pressing issues such as advocacy urgency for Universal Basic Income, and pre-teen and teenage human trafficking.

Under the influence of the pandemic, MT Space has turned to prioritizing emerging artists as an investment for building a recovery plan to the performing arts sector, and as an offer of sustainability for artists to be innovative, diverse and adaptable during a time of unknowing and unlearning. MT Space has become a leading advocate for Universal Basic Income, after seeing the impact of Covid-19 and witnessing the incredible struggle of many freelance and self-employed artists and workers locally and nationally.

In this Hub, you’ll find our unexpected intersections presented via three events: TELL, a digital coffee-house platform focused on the theme of Universal Basic Income; and two bite-sized live streams and recorded presentations from our newest initiative geared toward nurturing IBPOC emerging artists collaborative creations, called Arts Exchange.

Meet Waterloo Region’s MT Space, an international theatre company devoted to developing inter-cultural forms and practices in performance, producing, touring and presenting artistic work that reflects Canada’s cultural diversity. Since 2004, our company has been an unexpected intersection, as a conduit for internationally trained immigrants and newcomer professionals across all disciplines, consistently challenging the definition of theatre.
