The Oceanside Community is pleased to be offering a variety of Family Focused Culture Days Events that all are invited to participate in as we celebrate the Arts & Culture of our vibrant community. We are excited to bring three unique events during the three week Celebration of Culture Days across Canada.

The Steampunk Miniature Scrap Metal Sculpture Project is open to all ages and focuses on Upcycling & Recycling Metal Objects to create new works of art in a 3D form. The project consists of a hands-on workshop where participants will be introduced to the basic skills of sculpting scrap metal and learn to transform Trash to Treasures. Participants will be encouraged to spend the following week honing their skills at home to create their entry for the final competition. Family members are encouraged to work together as a pair or a team.

The Art Banner Crawl will introduce the entire Oceanside Community to a selection of new Art Banners that will be installed in the Downtown Business District to add to the collection of unique banners that already enhance the area. This is a family focused event. Locals and Tourists will follow a treasure hunt style map to locate the banners while enjoying the unique shops and boutiques in the downtown area.

The Exquisite Corpse Project is back again by popular demand and has proven to be the highlight of our B.C. Culture Days offerings from the past two years. 45 Artists make up the Artistic Team for 2023 including 28 new team members. The public and the Artists will celebrate the Unveiling of the 15 new collaborative paintings together at the Gala Evening party and food, beverages, fashion, music, and of course, ART, are all on the ‘menu’ for an unforgettable and unique evening. The Bayside Resort will be hosting the Evening Gala.
