This free program will run monthly, from June 2025 – December 2025
This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
Mending and Refashioning with Lisa Sylvestre and Jodi Green
You will learn some basic sewing skills so that you can easily and confidently mend small tears and holes in your fave clothes- no need to get rid of them! You will be introduced to invisible and decorative mending methods for patching holes and repairing torn seams in any woven fabrics.

The Arts Council Windsor & Region (ACWR) is proud to announce the return of the Senior Community Arts Program for its second year, dedicated to empowering and engaging adults aged fifty and up. Building on the success of last year’s launch, seniors will be taking the lead in workshops, activities, and group exhibitions, guided by our dedicated Senior Community Coordinator and the ACWR team. By actively involving seniors in the decision-making processes and skill-sharing activities, we’re not just promoting volunteerism, we’re empowering them to contribute meaningfully to their community while enhancing their own experiences.
Through collaborative workshops, seniors become mentors and mentees, sharing their wisdom and expertise with peers and skill-sharing with other generations. This culture of learning and support not only enriches individual lives but also strengthens the bonds within our community. Our program provides countless opportunities for seniors to connect, learn, and grow together. From engaging activities to captivating group exhibitions at ArtSpeak Gallery, every step of this journey is designed to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion. So, whether you’re eager to engage with your community, or simply looking to make meaningful connections, we invite you to join us throughout the program.
