About

Bharatanatyam, one of India’s oldest and most celebrated classical dance traditions, originating from Tamil Nadu. This graceful art form blends intricate footwork, expressive hand gestures (mudras), detailed facial expressions (abhinaya), and rhythmic movements to tell powerful stories inspired by Hindu mythology. Accompanied by classical Carnatic music and adorned with vibrant costumes and traditional jewelry, Bharatanatyam is not just a dance but a spiritual journey that beautifully connects performer and audience through devotion, culture, and rhythm.

This special workshop titled “Storytelling Through Hands” creates awareness about the expressive power of mudras in Bharatanatyam. Designed for all age groups, this lively and hands-on session invites everyone — from children to mothers and even grandmothers — to rediscover the joy of storytelling in a unique and creative way.
