About

Participants will use provided leaves—selected for their unique shapes and textures—as the primary tools for original autumn-inspired artworks. Using Gel plates, we will explore gel monoprinting by applying thin layers of paint and using leaves as tools to reveal delicate botanical details. This sustainable art form, or eco-printing, allows participants to produce professional-quality prints that highlight organic patterns through techniques like layering and ghost printing. This workshop serves as an engaging educational activity and a medium for artistic expression. Beyond its history in scientific identification and documentation, leaf printing encourages artists to reconnect with the environment and foster an appreciation for the intersection of art and science. By transforming the season's beauty into hand-pulled works, participants celebrate the local landscape and master a modern twist on the timeless tradition of nature-inspired printmaking.
