About
This travelling gallery and studio is stocked with supplies for hands-on activities like painting, drawing, and collage. Whether rolling into a plaza or down a neighbourhood sidewalk, Art à la Carte sparks curiosity and invites everyone to take part in the creative process. Art à la Carte will be touring Walkerville and Ford City between 11am - 4pm on September 27th, 2025. The project is created and led by artist Sarah Smitherman, whose work explores notions of time, place, and memory. To learn more about their practice and other projects, visit

Sarah Smitherman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice consists of material explorations and the inclusion of found objects. She is a two-time recipient of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund (ACHF) grant from the City of Windsor, and has received several other awards during her career. Her art has been displayed in exhibitions within Canada, Europe, and the United States. Occasionally, she develops and delivers workshops for her local art gallery (Art Windsor-Essex) which encourage the community to explore their surroundings for inspiration. She currently sits on the Arts Council Windsor & Region(ACWR)’s board, proudly serving as their recording secretary.
