The Yellow Umbrella Chronicles explores the profound question,
"What if I fall?
Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?"
Photographs from a variety of countries are presented as moments in time, celebrating the human journey. This project is a metaphor for taking risks and embracing the unknown, allowing viewers to contemplate the possibilities that emerge when we dare to spread our wings!
Ebru Winegard is a Toronto-based, award-winning, multidisciplinary Turkish-Canadian artist. She double-majored in Visual Communication Design and Film & Television at Bahçeşehir University before earning her Masters of Social Science from Istanbul University.
Ebru is a versatile artist, excelling as a graphic designer, visual artist, filmmaker, and art educator. Her work has received both national and international acclaim. She presented a solo exhibition at the 2024 Contact Photography Festival and has participated in over 30 national and international group exhibitions and festivals. Her short film HandMade Paper Font has been screened in North Carolina (USA), Toronto (Canada), Oberhausen (Germany), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Essex (England).
Ebru’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in her family’s creative heritage, with members skilled in painting, music, and crafts. She employs a wide array of mediums, from photography and video to textiles, to communicate her artistic vision. Her works are inspired by community, culture, and nature, reflecting her dedication to making a positive impact through her art.
