About

The Arts Council of the North Okanagan and BC Culture Days are proud to kick-off the BC Culture Days celebrations in Vernon!  Join us in Polson Park for the Vernon Arts and Culture Festival on September 23rd, from 10am-late! Enjoy a full day of children and family activities, music, dance, visual arts, culture, heritage, history and more!

On one side of the park, Polson Artisan Night Market will be set up with 40 vendors and your favourite local food trucks.

Live Music and Performances will be on the bandstand from 10am to late, starting with children's performances in the morning, moving into an evening concert hosted by Local Losers for the young  and young at heart. Performers include Seth Spotted Eagle, Kiki the Eco Elf, Silly of the Valley, Duane Marchand, Elodie Orsei, Mozi Bones, Hot Sax, Stonefruits, and Cloaker.

On the other side of the park you'll find 30 Activity & Information Tents, Art Demonstrations, Storytelling, more live music, and more artisan booths. Children's activities will include sing-a-longs and storytelling with Kiki's Salmon Tent, Silly of the Valley, Sarah Elliman and Abbie Wilson, crafts with Allan Brooks Nature Centre, fossil digs and art projects with Okanagan Science Centre, a colouring contest with Century 21, wandering music students from the Vernon Community Music School, Japanese origami and calligraphy with the Vernon Community Arts Centre, and face painting and crafts with Tourism Vernon.

You'll also find art exhibits, live painting and art demonstrations from the Vernon Photography Club, Caetani Centre, North Okanagan Wood Carvers, Moontide Gallery & Studio, Destanne Norris, and more.

Other community organizations on site include Vernon & District Immigrant Community Services Society, Okanagan Regional Library, BC Winter Games, Vernon Active Living Facility, Okanagan Indian Band, North Okanagan Community Concert Society, North Okanagan Friendship Centre, VCAC's Joining Hands Program, Fur House, Local Losers, and more!
