Join us for an engaging art workshop on Kerr Street hosted by the talented mosaic artist Elena Martoglio, a beloved local artist who calls the Kerr area home. This workshop offers a fun, hands-on experience where participants can meet Elena, learn about the intricate art of mosaics, and create their own stunning pieces. Everyone will be making a tile for the "Beach Glass Quilt"! Perfect for all skill levels, this is a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant world of mosaic art under the guidance of an expert. Come and immerse yourself in the creativity and community spirit of Kerr Street!

This workshop is held outside. In case of rain, the location will be moved to Trafalgar Park Community Centre. All materials are provided.

The “We Are Kerr” project received support through the My Main Street Community Activator program.

My Main Street is funded by a Government of Canada investment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to foster the stabilization and revitalization of main streets across southern Ontario.

The My Main Street Community Activator will provide support across southern Ontario for local community placemaking projects, including festivals and events, community enhancements, and streetscape improvements designed to draw visitors and increase local vibrancy.

Placemaking is an approach that asks people to collectively reimagine and reshape public space to maximize its shared value. Placemaking can take the form of events that draw people into a community, murals that brighten neglected streetscapes and celebrate local artists, seating and temporary patios that allow people to gather safely outdoors, new uses for neglected or empty spaces, and more.
