This is a conversational, participation-driven, and we encourage visitors to read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action in advance of the tour for grounding and context. The tour lasts about 90 minutes, beginning at Brent Sparrow Jr’s sʔi:ɬqəy̓ qeqən (Double-Headed Serpent Post) outside the UBC Bookstore (6200 University Blvd), and takes place outside, moving between Main Mall, East Mall, and West Mall. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

UBC ARTIVISM

From September 6 to October 13, UBC Artivism engages through the theme Politics of the Body by amplifying underrepresented voices, with an emphasis on the liberation and diverse expressions of the marginalized body, both politically and artistically.

Presented by UBC Arts and Culture District 2022 festival Artistic Director Helena Miranda and Artistic Producer Vanessa Matsubara in partnership with the Exposure UBC student club team, this annual festival highlights stories of resilience and student activist art that challenges dominant narratives through live performances, poetry, music and more. With a wide range of activities and events, there is something for everyone.
