Owner of Wiltse Creek Studio, Dawne taught herself to paint during the late hours of the evening after her family was tucked into bed fast asleep. Learning first in oils, and dabbling in watercolour, she fell in love with acrylics. She paints large and small works of art on rocks, glass, screen, hardboard, wood, fungi as well as traditional canvas. She also works with found and recycled items to create unique pieces of furniture, garden art and home decor. An amateur photographer, her favourite subjects are Miss Fox, a regular visitor to the studio and the birds that gather in the garden and adjacent woods. She teaches painting classes for beginning adults and children all year round.

During the tour, Dawne will be happy to chat about the pieces she is currently working on and will be giving a demonstration in chair caning, rushing, or splint seating depending on which is available during the tour.
