À propos
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Oakville Symphony! Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of an orchestra? Now’s your chance to find out! Join us for a special event where you’ll see how our more than 70 members get ready to perform impressive music without any amplification. At this event, you will watch an open rehearsal and hear from our engaging Music Director, Lorenzo Guggenheim. He’ll explain the enchanting story behind Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, a tale of magic and adventure. The Firebird Suite tells the story of Prince Ivan, who captures a magical firebird and encounters various mystical creatures, leading to a dramatic struggle between good and evil. You’ll learn how Stravinsky used innovative orchestration to bring this fairy tale to life and listen to the full 25 minute performance piece at the end of the event. Guess what, you can ask us anything you want about orchestras or anything else you’re curious about! Don’t miss this unique peek into the world of symphonic music and the musicians of YOUR local orchestra.
