The process of making things is not hard to figure out. Choosing actionable items towards what constitutes “making things” is hard. In this workshop you’ll be introduced to some surprising, easy, and effective ways of making things which I’ve taught at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. We will go through different fidelities of making using everything from a roll of masking tape to a blind fold fabric. Then, for the workshop option you’ll have a chance to do an attempt at making with a partner. We will use a process called role play which requires no knowledge, no creative ability, just a desire to learn and be inspired.

Organisateur

Thomas Girard

Girard is an Emerging Scholar award recipient and MA GLS Candidate at SFU. He has an undergraduate design degree from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and was accepted to Royal College of Art, London, but chose to study at SFU with opportunity to do coursework at Wolfson College, Oxford. Girard is currently an Instructor at his alma mater, where he teaches certificate and degree level interaction design in their pioneering offerings.
