À propos
Nine photo based window murals celebrate community. Building on the success of previous years, the Town of Oakville has once again taken the initiative to invite a fresh cohort of artists to showcase their photographic murals in neighbourhood community and cultural centres. This year's theme of "Connextions" resonates with the current times, as it urges us to reconnect and strengthen our community bonds.
Through this exhibition, the town aims to foster a sense of community spirit and elevate the public realm. Each recreation and culture facility features a striking artwork prominently displayed on a window, allowing for easy outdoor viewing.
The artist offers about his work:
Each year on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, citizens line the streets with carpets made of flowers, which are walked on during religious festival processions. I have been collecting local plant life from my garden to continue this cultural and familial tradition by photographing my own flower carpets and digitally assembling the paths.
