Celebrate Culture Days 10th anniversary on September 27, 28, and 29! Join Canadians across Maple Ridge, the province and nation in this annual celebration of culture with activities for all ages and FREE! Our themed activities this year corresponds with healthy community and well-being. Get a passport in Maple Ridge and collect stamps at the different locations to win some prizes!

Highlights:

Sept. 22 - The provincial launch of Culture Days in Mission at 1:00 PM, Heritage Park Centre.

Sept. 27 – Family Fun Day at Eric Langton Elementary School, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with Artists in Residence and Indigenous games, crafts and food.

Sept. 28 – ACT Arts Centre, Haney House and Library at 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Family Fishy Fun at ACT Arts Centre - explore Maple Ridge’s “fishy” past and try your hand at different crafts and hands on activities including engaging activities with Artists in Residence Gerry Sheena, Manuel Strain and Natali Leduc; learn how to mend fish nets and hear fishing stories from Kwantlen Elder Barrie Brown.

• Harvest Time at Haney House - take a tour of the heritage orchard around Haney House, see demonstrations of an apple cider press, and even get to try some of the heritage apple cider and fruit preserves!

• Arts in the Library – from storytelling to interactive arts and crafts by local artists, come enjoy something for the whole family.

Presenting partners include City of Maple Ridge, The ACT Arts Centre, Artists in Residence: Natali Leduc, Gerry Sheena and Manuel Strain, Maple Ridge Public Library with Art Studio Tour artists and Whonnock Weavers and Spinners Guild, Maple Ridge Museum, School District 42 and Aboriginal Education, Coast Salish Arts & Cultural Society and others.
