Location

The Artesian

2627 13th Ave.

Regina, SK

This hub is about being heard, making connections, and bringing the community together, in a safe, accessible, and inclusive manner. Each event is meant to aid in the understanding of open and intimate access while encouraging confidence and comfort in individual and collective voices - especially for those living with disability, neurodivergence, and all 'othered' communities.

The events within this hub will be presented in a safe and nurturing space where everyone - disabled and non-disabled - are welcome!

We will provide access and accommodations as needed; together we will go with the slow and move at the speed of trust.

Hub Events:

1.) "Be Heard: Body, Breath and Voice Workshop" with Traci Foster will focus on participants learning to use their body, breath, and voice to vibrantly express and communicate with ease and pleasure. We will sing for the health of it and learn how voice can be used as an instrument for relaxation, regulation, and connection. Registration required.

2.) "BREATHE: For the HEALTH of It" - In this 3 hour workshop, participants will learn accessible skills and exercises to support regulation of the nervous system. You will be introduced to breathing techniques for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation in a safe, nurturing, and creative manner. Registration required

3.) "We Are All Mad In Here: I HAVE NO IDEA" a play that explores adult ADHD, through the eyes of people who have it. It's about neurodiversity, the power of music, and the importance of friendship. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll think.

Evening performance - Sept. 25th at 7:30 pm. Registration required.

4.) "We Are All Mad In Here: I HAVE NO IDEA" a play that explores adult ADHD, through the eyes of people who have it. It's about neurodiversity, the power of music, and the importance of friendship. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll think.

Matinee performance on Sept. 26th - 1:00 pm. While everyone is welcome, the show will be geared towards a youth audience. Registration required.

Both shows will be followed by a conversation about the role of art in disability and mental health. For access needs, or for more information, please contact [email protected]

Each event will be held in-person at the Artesian in Regina and is FREE to attend. We hope to see you there! The space is wheelchair accessible and also has gender-neutral washrooms.
