Welcome to ARTIVISM 2023, our 5th annual festival celebrating both student and community resistance and resilience through art. This year's theme is "Madness is the Masses" where radical creativity merges with collective liberation. Brace yourself for immersive experiences where art and culture becomes a catalyst for challenging the confines of a capitalist system. This ARTIVISM invites you to the spaces of storytelling, where we seek to challenge class systems, highlight mental and emotional effects of oppression, and ultimately invite imagination to envision a culture of community and collective care through creativity.

-

In this student led space we delve deep into the realm where madness becomes a catalyst for radical transformation, and highlights the oppressive nature of our system. Embracing the power of creative expression as we tell the personalized and collective stories of an impersonal system, through open mics, workshops, art exhibitions, theatrical performances and many more ( keep posted!)

-

ARTIVISM 2023 draws profound inspiration from a myriad of cultures of resistance, including (but not limited to) Indigenous, Filipino, Palestinian, Black, and Queer communities. We strive to cultivate a vibrant shared space, where diverse collectives come together for resistance. Guided by the strength of these marginalized masses, our festival celebrates a powerful collective unity in the face of oppressive systems.

-

Moreover, the beauty of these cultures lies not only in their resistance but also in their cultures of care. Artivism 2023 invites all participants to revel in the collective resilience demonstrated through captivating cultural performances. As we bask in the richness of these diverse expressions, we are inspired to envision a global culture of care that transcends current systems and drives meaningful reform.

-

We strive to create a festival that not only challenges the status quo but also empowers each individual to embrace their role in creating positive change. Join us in this ARTIVISM, the fusion of art and activism. Let us rage in our resistance and reconnect in our resilience.
