About

Register for a special Culture Days printmaking demo with Ingrid Mayhrofer, the artist of "After Nature," a series of banners installed as the very first project completed under the new Halton Hills Public Art Program.

During this 20-minute participatory workshop session in the Community Studio at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre, Ingrid will teach you how to make a relief print with a Styrofoam block.

Explore the theme of sustainability, like Ingrid did with her banner project, while you create: what are some of the plants, animals or other living organisms that might be in danger, and why?

Ages 4 and up. Participants under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult - if you plan to work together, please only register for one ticket.

Optional to bring:

- a photograph or a sketch on which you want to base your print

- studio clothes: water-based ink is used, but can stain light fabrics

- your own dull pencil or spent ballpoint pen

To ensure that participants are appropriately distanced, each demonstration will be limited to 6 workstations and will require registration. Participants are asked to wear masks and respect physical distancing.

Four timeslots are available:

2:00pm – 2:20pm

2:30pm – 2:50pm

3:00pm – 3:20pm

3:30pm – 3:50pm

The Town of Halton Hills is taking a careful and phased approach to reopening facilities and services. While we establish a new normal, an added layer of health and safety measures is required to ensure the safety of residents, employees and visitors. In an effort to provide ongoing protection, a new COVID-19 screening protocol is in effect and mandatory for the public and staff when entering Town facilities, including the Halton Hills Cultural Centre and the Community Studio.
