About
Special guest artists, HAUS TRIO.
About the HAUS Trio:
A Neo-soul classic post modern latin jazz ensemble, featuring an intimate atmospheric lo-fi jazz mixed with more traditional elements.
Brent Setterington – EP, Keyboard Bass, Backing Vocals
Peter Shea – Piano, B3, Vocals
Marcus Gazzellone – Drums
Brent Setterington
Brent Setterington has played in and around this area in a variety of local bands including his Jazz Combo co-created with Peter Shea back in high school where he first started gigging professionally.
As one of original keyboardists in Niagara’s beloved LMT CONNECTION, & Leroy Emmanuel (who’s pedigree goes back to days of working with Motown, Marvin Gaye, Patti Labelle, Bohannon and creating his ground shattering progressive funk/soul band “The Fabulous Counts”.) Brent was cutting his teeth on old jazz and funk soul records from the Motown era.
He has been a part of many writing sessions (Pop Stars, Justin Gray) and symposiums, and in 2004 he co-wrote a song called “Single” which was covered a year later, by Canadian Idol winner Kalan Porter, on his debut release “219 Days”. The song became Kalan’s 2nd single, and the album would be certified double platinum by the end of the year.
Marcus Gazzellone
Marcus describes his style as modern-funk-fusion, which brings an exciting feel to the music he performs. He is a highly versatile player, appearing on drums with several acts. He is also a prolific writer, local recording producer and an in-demand live-sound engineer and lighting technician. When asked about his philosophy of performance, Marcus channelled James Brown and declared “GIVE THE DRUMMER SUMM!!”
Some notable artists include Mark Murphy, Sammi Morelli, Mel Monaco, and The Rovers of which he toured the U.S. in 2019.
