About
Discover the magic of cyanotype in this 3-hour workshop led by artist Sara Keller. Learn the historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create striking Prussian blue prints, often called sun prints.
Mix the chemistry, coat your own paper, arrange plants and interesting objects, and watch your images come together with UV light. Working with plants and found objects, you'll create a series of unique cyanotypes while experimenting with fresh and pressed botanicals, string, stones, glass, and other materials. Explore composition, shadow, layering, and exposure as you develop your own creative approach to this timeless printmaking technique.
Whether you're new to cyanotype or looking to expand your artistic practice, this workshop offers a relaxed, hands-on introduction to the medium. You'll leave with 5-8 finished prints and the confidence to continue exploring cyanotype on your own. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.
This workshop is free for all participants ages 16+.
