About
Find the limelight in your Golden Years and engage with others who are young-at-heart. Join us for ENCORE!, short, delightful concerts with heartwarming stories, songs and nostalgia brought to you by The Shaw's talented Ensemble at the Burton Centre for Lifelong Creativity at the new Shaw Artists' Village.
At the Shaw Festival, we are proud to be at the forefront of Positive Aging– advancing a new vision for aging through creativity, connection, and lifelong expression. We believe the arts have a critical role to play in shaping how society approaches aging and how each of us experiences getting older.
Over the next three years, we are expanding our Positive Aging initiatives through a growing range of workshops, experiences, and artistic programs – from theatre and improvisation to movement, memory, and beyond. These are not simply activities. They are spaces where imagination thrives, relationships deepen, and new possibilities emerge at every stage of life.
No RSVP required.

The Shaw Festival
With 12 or more productions each year performed in three theatres for an audience of more than 350,000, the Shaw Festival is a major Canadian cultural icon, a gem in this country’s rich cultural heritage. Inspired by the wit and passion of Bernard Shaw, the Shaw Festival is a contemporary theatre that features a smart, provocative, potent and diverse mix of plays from the past and present, performed by a celebrated repertory theatre Ensemble. The result is theatre that is challenging, surprising, often funny and always entertaining. These plays are lovingly and artfully brought to the stage each year by a talented team of actors, directors, and designers, showcasing the incredible tapestry of talent that this country contributes to the world.
To complement its world-class performances, this season the Shaw Festival will offer more than 5,000 Beyond the Stage events, classes and activities for people of all ages. Programming includes Positive Aging events, Arts Education for children and youth, Backstage Tours and Artist Conversations, Coffee Concerts, Speakeasies, What’s In Your Songbook, Gospel Choir, Perfect Pairing Concerts, Pop-Up Patios and so much more.
Through its All.Together.Now. campaign, The Shaw is creating new spaces and programs where people can build real human connections and rediscover their creativity.
