Duggan’s acrylics and transparent watercolours focus on the bedrock surfaces and rock faces impacted and revealed by natural and human forces.

​Face to Face is the artist’s response to the magnitude of change caused by the Highway 400/169 expansion. It inspired Duggan to reimagine the role of ‘horizon’ in landscape painting. Traditionally, an element located within the frame that divides the composition horizontally, Duggan’s realization gives the horizon profound significance as the entirety of her painting. Her polyptychs fill our vision with lyrical geological forms to create a provocative face-to-face encounter with her subject, our land.
