The Dance Together Festival offers free community workshops and events that celebrate positive and accessible dance experiences. In fall 2023, the festival is coming back to York Region during Ontario Culture Days! Take a free dance workshop or watch an open rehearsal with local professional dance artists at Assembly Park in Vaughan September 29-October 1, then come dance together some more at the Richmond Hill Public Library (Central Branch) on October 15th. During our open studio sessions, community members can take a sneak peek into the process of Aeris Körper Contemporary Dance, discover the power of Krump with Jamari Whittaker, aka “Rhino”, delight in the playfulness of The Grand Salto Theatre/Seeking Giants Collective, and more! Community workshop styles include AfroCaribbean, Hip Hop, Partner Dance 101, Swing, Cuban Salsa, Balfolk (European Folk) Dance, Bollywood and more! Open to all ages, levels and abilities. Dance Together Festival York Region workshops are free for participants, thanks to the generous support of the Richmond Hill Community and Cultural Grant Program. Presented in partnership with the Dance Together Project, Assembly Park, KasheDance, dance Immersion, York Region Arts Council, City of Vaughan, City of Richmond Hill and Richmond Hill Public Library.
