Your monthly contributions or one-time gifts greatly support the development of our equity-focused programming by providing artists in our Culture Days network with funding as they plan and provide FREE, engaging, and accessible arts and culture activities to community members in urban, suburban, and rural areas across B.C.

About the Bridge Society

The Greater Vancouver Society to Bridge Arts and Community (Bridge Society) is a registered charitable organization that has a mandate to promote awareness of arts and culture by establishing bridges between the general public, the private sector, arts organizations, and individual artists. Bridge Society staff work together with a volunteer provincial task force and steering committee, municipalities, and numerous community arts and cultural organizations to coordinate plans for the annual Culture Days celebrations in British Columbia.

Where Your Donations Will Go

Your gifts to this fund will go towards covering the artist fees, materials, and accessibility costs for workshops, programs, and events run by independent artists in our network. Contributing to these costs ensures that we can offer low-barrier, free-to-attend, and accessible activities for all audiences to participate in and enjoy.

Our Efforts

Through the administration and production of BC Culture Days, the Bridge Society is building a unique provincial network of arts and culture workers devoted to fostering creative and cultural growth, prosperity, and livelihood among all artists, creators, organizers, and citizens in B.C. Through the administration of our programs, we strive to create positive change in our communities, whether it be to incite curiosity and appreciation for arts, culture, and heritage in the everyday lives of citizens or by providing emerging artists with the experience and mentorship needed to grow their careers and strengthen their connection with audiences and industry peers.

The annual BC Culture Days Ambassador Program aims to dismantle systemic barriers by creating professional development opportunities for diverse artists, many of whom identify as living within underserved geographical and/or as part of minority communities. With a sum cohort of over 70 artists who have participated, the Ambassador Program bolsters accessible and informative programming across the province that is created by emerging Indigenous, Black, racialized, disabled, neurodiverse, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ artists. Artists in the program are also supported through one-on-one mentorships and spokesperson opportunities.
