“The Art of Conservation & Connections: Friendly Fashion for Forests, Rivers, Salmon and Sea”

Go with the flow and follow the life cycle of salmon through their stages and stories. Learn how the salmon and our lives are interconnected through the river, forest, and ocean ecosystems both locally and globally. You can make a positive impact on our natural world through the ART OF CONSERVATION & CONNECTION. Join passionate local artists, nature advocates, and film makers to get inspired and learn about the impacts of fast fashion on our natural environments. Discover simple ways to create change in our habits by reusing, re-purposing and repairing clothing, appliances, and everyday items, rather than discarding them. Acts of care through conservation can have a big impact on our local forests, rivers and streams and in turn, improves community health and well being. Let's flow together through various Culture Day events to unearth ways to care, conserve and become better global citizens. Celebrate the wildlife of our local waters and forests through the eyes of local photographer Joanna Recalma. This stunning exhibition of dynamic photographs will be on at the Qualicum Beach Regional Library from September 18th to October 4th, with a public talk by Recalma on September 29th.
