Crystal Cave is a interactive Mineral, Fossil, Gem and Rock exhibit featuring a full audio tour. With your phone, you are able to scan 1 of the 64 QR Codes that are throughout the exhibit. Once scanned, a 1-to-3 minute sound bite will describe what is in front of you, bring your headphones! Also, we have create several Augmented Reality 'triggers' where users can hover a provided device over a fossil and see the dinosaur come to life!

Many of the mineral specimens on display have been photographed by Julia Breckenridge, the exhibits owner, using a macro lens and printed large on metal. The photography is on display in and around the exhibit. Adjoined to the exhibit is a Crystal Shoppe featuring a meditation pod, faerie village, apothecary and many mineral specimens for sale.

Surrounding the Crystal Cave is the new Artisan Village! Many of the outbuildings and sheds have been repurposed to house Local Artists doing what they do best. We have a stone sculptor, carpenters, lavender gifts, croquet artist, weaver, faerie hollow and a coffee roaster.

Crystal Cave

Julia and John Breckenridge have been amassing their personal mineral collection for over 60 years, most of which is now on display at the Crystal Cave. The collection is thousands of specimens strong! It is their hope as a destination spot in South River, through the many things to do and see here at The Cave, that children and adults of all ages will be inspired by wonders the world provides us, both locally and globally.
