À propos

Drop in to and try playing in Anna Lyman's UKULELE ORCHESTRA ENSEMBLE

You will learn to play music as a part in a group with 3-4 parts as in an ensemble, or larger.

Instructor Anna Lyman, has a B.Mus. but just as important, has studied in Hawaii, with Ben Chong, who was Don Ho's Musical Director, and Guitar and Ukulele player, and also other Hawaiian instructors.

Learn how to play a part in an ensemble, or with enough players, an orchestra! The music comes from all over the world and includes everything from Hawaiian Ballads, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Rock, Latinamerican music, Folk tunes from the Ukraine and more!

All sizes of Ukuleles and Baritone Ukuleles are welcome. Baritones are important, and have their own book designed just for Baritone. The MUSIC is presented with both NOTES and TABS with CHORDS. Singing is optional and half of the music is instrumental.

No previous experience is necessary, but of course as you study you will learn to navigate up and down the neck of the ukulele and develop new musical skills.

Songs you might encounter, "Ode To Joy", "La Cumparsita", "Heartbeat" (Buddy Holly), "The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy", "Early One Morning"(The Friendly Giant theme), "Oye Como Va"(Tito Puente).

Instructor Anna Acevedo Lyman, B.Mus.Jazz Voice, Min. Guitar is a professional Jazz musician and professional Jazz and World vocalist who has played her ukulele even at a Jazz Festival, first performing with it in 2010. Anna is currently a live performer and her Jazz and Ukulele bands can be hired for LUAUS, are featured in fine dining establishments, Jazz and other festivals, and more!

Her ensembles perform twice a year, but that is optional for players. (Note: this group is Not sponsored by the Victoria Conservatory, but by Instructor, Anna Lyman).
