Earlier this year, the evocative artwork of Ingrid Mayrhofer was displayed throughout the streets of Halton Hills on a series of banners, the very first project completed under the new Halton Hills Public Art Program.

In this video, you will get an exclusive behind the scenes peak into Mayhofer’s studio as she takes you through her creative process and shares the techniques that brought these colourful images to life.

Mayrhofer’s designs resonate with both the built and natural environments; compositions that feature historical buildings you’ll recognize from around Halton Hills, with images of flora and fauna native to Ontario. With vibrant textures, colour and the layered feeling of the imagery, Mayrhofer celebrates the past of Halton's built history while simultaneously drawing attention to the fragility of the future of our natural environment.
