À propos

Listen To Dis’ VOICE is an open door community program. The program has been operating for 18 years under the facilitation of Traci Foster. A dedicated group of individuals living with various abilities gather weekly. The program is open to new members and this year, we'd like to expand its reach even further through Saskatchewan Culture Days.

LTD' Voice focuses on exploring different art forms that involve using and developing the voice. This includes acting, singing, vocal and movement work, script work, as well as performance skills and confidence building with a variety of artists. A typical evening begins with a check in and is followed by a warmup through intimately accessible body, breath, and voice work. The next two hours are used to facilitate the planned program through various art and performance mediums. Following that, there is a fellowship period accompanied by light, nutritious snacks (which will be provided). This offers participants to bond and build relationships outside of the programming.

This Listen to Dis’ Voice workshop will focus on exploring different ways of freeing your voice through body, breath, and singing exercises. We will look at things such as yawning, sighing, and other non-verbal sound expressions that explore how they influence freeing one's voice while helping to develop confidence in self expression.

This will be the second of three evening sessions over the course of the Saskatchewan Culture Days window, each taught by a different artist with expertise in developing and using one's voice and using the voice to self advocate and creatively express. It will be facilitated by Kristel Harder.

Kristel Harder (she/they) is a neurodivergent actor, singer, musician, and cabaret writer. Kristel holds their Masters in Musical Theatre Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and are a graduate of MacEwan University's Theatre Arts Program. She is a proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ and Mad/Crip communities. Kristel gets very little opportunity to share her incredible skills as a voice teacher as she is always gracing Saskatchewan stages with her immense talent.

Any required art materials will be provided to participants. Participants can choose to use their devices (phone, tablet) if it is more accessible for them. For any additional access needs or accommodations, please reach out to [email protected].
