Delta Literary Arts Society

The Delta Literary Arts Society (DLAS) is a community‑driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting writers and celebrating the literary arts across Ladner, Tsawwassen, and North Delta. Over the past five years, DLAS has become a creative hub offering six free monthly events—two Writers’ Circles, a Writers’ Workshop, Pages & Passages, Words On Fire, and the online circle So You’re Writing a Novel—all designed to nurture local talent and keep the arts accessible to everyone.

DLAS also produces major community programs, including the COMPOSED Festival of Writing and its COMPOSED Short Film Festival, the Halloween‑themed dramatized short‑story event Killer Verse. Its new umbrella initiative, Write On Stage, supports playwrights at every level, including Page To Stage, a three-session workshop to help new playwrights bring a short piece to stage, and also this year’s featured stage production of the new play, The Specials, which ran for five evenings in February and March.

Through workshops, performances, festivals, and partnerships, DLAS continues to strengthen Delta’s cultural landscape and champion inclusive, community‑centered storytelling.
