Latin American Rhythms - Percussion Circle with Rodrigo Chavez
Please RSVP to avoid disappointment - we encourage drop-ins, but spaces are limited!
An inclusive workshop where all are invited to participate. Focus and memory are encouraged since Latin rhythms can become quite intricate and are based on an oral tradition.
Designed to give participants a basic knowledge of percussion instruments through a selection of Latin American rhythms. These instruments and rhythms are intrinsically connected to the history of South America and its musical geography.
Elements of history, geography, singing, and dancing are a part of this workshop. Aimed at developing senses, body coordination, and memory.
