À propos

Join Keely O’Brien and community youth in celebrating their year-long project that explored neurodiversity and emerging identities through drawing, printmaking, collage, storytelling, and zine creation. Discover their art project, featuring prize ribbons that express different aspects of identity, especially those that are often not shared or celebrated.

Everyone is welcome to participate in a FREE hands-on art activity and create a ribbon that expresses something unique about you. Drop-In event. All ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Keely O'Brien is an interdisciplinary artist based in Richmond, BC. Her practice centres immersive installations, imaginative ephemera, and interactive experiences. She often creates collaborative art projects with community members and invites the public to participate in unusual meaning-making experiences. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Simon Fraser University, and is a self and family-taught visual artist.

Organisateur

City of Richmond / Richmond Public Library / Aspire Richmond

Aspire Richmond’s Youth Connections Program is an out-of-school program designed for young people with developmental disabilities. Youth Connections operates after school on weekdays during the school year and for full days during spring, summer and winter breaks. The program offers school-aged children and teens the opportunity for interaction and recreation in a fun and safe environment.

Richmond Public Library has been proudly serving the Richmond community since 1976 as an essential source of information and learning. Our mission is to create opportunities to learn, connect and belong and our vision is to inspire curiosity, transform lives and empower everyone. Guided by our Strategic Plan, the library is focused on building and growing the community, communicating who we are and what we do; developing and leveraging our resources; expanding access to programs, services and collections; and reimagining space for our community to use.

Richmond’s Public Art Program sparks community participation in the building of our public spaces, offers access to ideas generated by contemporary art, encourages citizens to take pride in public cultural expression, and creates a forum to address a range of relevant themes and issues. Since the Program’s inception in 1997, the City has collected and commissioned over 300 works of public art with over 200 works currently on display around Richmond.
