À propos
Join us for a film screening and panel discussion of the film Inay (2024). From the 1990s, the Live-In Caregiver Program attracted thousands of Filipino women to Canada as migrant workers, enabling them to send money back home and gain permanent residency.
Inay explores the program’s psychological impact on the children abandoned by their mothers out of economic necessity, and looks at the repercussions of systemic policies on generations of Filipino Canadians.
This program is held in partnership with the Richmond Local Immigration Partnership (RLIP).
