À propos
Enjoy self-guided walking tours highlighting the history and architecture of the four Heritage Conservation Districts in Vaughan: Kleinburg-Nashville, Maple, Woodbridge and Thornhill.
The goal of these walking tours is to provide you – the general public – with cultural and heritage information on the history and architecture of these distinct Heritage Conservation Districts, and to generate interest and support for the continued conservation and preservation of these wonderfully unique structures and their setting. We encourage you enjoy the views and vistas of these historic pockets of Vaughan, to indulge in local business merchandise and products, and to photograph and post your experiences for others to delight and marvel.
There are some rules to keep in mind when touring Kleinburg.
• The sites identified on this tour are ALL private homes and therefore access onto these properties is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Please enjoy buildings from the distance of the public sidewalk and do not trespass onto people’s private property.
• Public washroom facilities are not available at any of the sites. Please use caution and care when parking or driving to any of the sites.
• Please do not park illegally if visiting sites by car. All posted public parking signage should be strictly obeyed.
• Lastly – and importantly – ENJOY THE TOUR!
Although the labelling and interpretation of vernacular architectural styles vary from Province to Province, the main source used for the purpose of compiling this tour is Ontario Architecture by John Blumenson, published by Fitzhenry & Whiteside, c.1990.

City of Vaughan
With a population of more than 340,000 residents, Vaughan is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada, home to more than 217 ethnic or cultural origins with 113 different languages spoken. It is a vibrant, diverse, inclusive and equity-based community that recognizes and celebrates arts, culture and heritage.
We recognize that Vaughan is situated in the Territory and Treaty 13 lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat and the Haudenosaunee. The City of Vaughan is currently home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit people today. As representatives of the people of the City of Vaughan, we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and live in this territory.
