À propos

Johnny's BC Culture Days Performance will include a blend of storytelling, humour, music, and poetry. This event will debut some new works, and opportunities for dialogue with the audience. Johnny is currently the artist-in-residence at the John Howard Society Lower Mainland, through the Community Arts Council of Vancouver.

Johnny David Trinh is an award winning, community-engaged, multi-disciplinary artist. Johnny's primary practice is in spoken word poetry and storytelling. Trained as a theatre maker, writer, and musician, Johnny's work explores culture, resistance, and seeks compassion despite conflict. Johnny has little interest in small talk, but a penchant for salty banter. Johnny is most interested in the work that happens after the poetry, the listening after the storytelling, the change after the catalyst. Johnny acknowledges that we live, work, and play on the unceded traditional and ancestral homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
