Come see how the magic is made—we will open the closed doors of our Nutcracker rehearsals. Watch as young dancers are transformed into mice and angels. Observe the dancers learn the choreography and difficult patterns of the Snowflakes and Flowers. Watch Clara and Fritz fight over the Nutcracker doll. Watch the dancers rehearse all the divertissements: Spanish, Arabian, Chinese, Russian, Mirlitons. Watch Mother Ginger dance on stilts as the Pulchinelles learn to flip and jump to the music. Come see what happens before the curtain rises and the magic is real!

Coasting Along Theatre Society’s launch of the perennial Christmas favorite THE NUTCRACKER squarely places C.A.T.S. as a new vibrant component of the Coast’s arts community. In addition to presenting the highest quality ballet productions, serving a coastal population of over 30,000 residents not including tourists, C.A.T.S. mission also focuses on broadening dance education in the communities with inventive and creative programming while honoring the traditional teaching principals integral to the art form. Our outreach program is designed to impact all of the Coast’s primary and secondary schools. C.A.T.S. will set the standard for artistic excellence in ballet productions and outreach programs in the coastal region. Our productions serve as an inspiration and goal for the many students of the community’s dance academies. It is our desire to further enrich a thriving theatre scene, for residents and visitors alike.
