À propos

Dawn Matheson's participatory art project has brought individuals living with mental illnesses together with trees for a yearlong creative, care-taking engagement culminating in a site-specific public sound walk at The Arboretum. The work aims to reflect the parallel crisis of mental illness and the environmental crisis by expanding ideas around art practice as caretaking, and the interdependency between humans and our natural environment.

Matheson will walk with attendees and be available for reflections and questions after the 2-kilometre walk through field and forest.

Please note: participants need cellular data to access audio via QR code at the site, or can download the audio in advance of the walk.

How To Draw A Tree audio is available at https://howtodrawatree.ca/tours/sound-walk/, for the walk plus for those who would like to access the virtual accessible version of the audio project from home.
