À propos

iHuman is commemorating Alberta Culture Days on Fri, Sept 27, from 1pm to 6pm with our 2019 Open House where the general public will have the opportunity to experience iHuman Youth Society and Edmonton's most unique artist collective iHuman Studios. For those already familiar with iHuman, this is a chance to experience our new Welcome Area & LiNKS Clinic (and the unveiling of new murals) as we move back in after our dislocation due to flooding in 2018! Tours of the facility will be conducted by iHuman artists throughout the afternoon. We will be providing opportunity to participate in our Orange Shirt Project in preparation for Orange Shirt Day on Monday, Sept 30, as well as hosting a barbecue, and canvas stretching workshops where you will have the opportunity to build primed canvases to either be added to our visual art studio's inventory... or in exchange for a donation you can take yours home!

Organisateur

iHuman Youth Society

iHuman Youth Society has been in existence for over 20 years in amiskwacîwâskahikan / ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ / City of Edmonton beginning as a studio for two professional visual artists. After the success of its initial projects (The Gun Sculpture and The Red Tear Project) it quickly began to find its identity as a place where young people could intentionally transform trauma into purpose, self-identity, purpose, and belonging through acts of creativity, caring, and authenticity. Our collective of young artists work out of 4 second floor studios dedicated to visual art, music, fashion, and performance, while the ground floor provides space and staff for family supports, mental health, cultural learning, and more.
