Join us on the evening of Saturday, October 14, 2023 for an enchanted, lantern-lit stroll along Stratford beautiful Avon River.

Make a donation to receive a handmade lantern or create your own unique Last Minute Lantern.

Lantern in hand, join the Procession of Light along the riverbank, passing installations created by local artists and schoolchildren. The parade will travel east, guided by spheres of fairy lights and accompanied by the illuminated Light Up the Night Kayakers.

Celebrate on Tom Patterson Island by launching a floating Wish Boat. Experience the 360 Photo Booth and more live entertainment. Food trucks from Crazee Kernels, Ken’s and Tim Horton’s will be on hand to offer refreshments.

• Most aspects of the Lantern Parade are free or Pay-What-You-Can.

• No lanterns will be launched into the air.

• No live flames are permitted in lanterns.

• All LED candles floated in the Avon River will be retrieved by Lantern Parade volunteers for re-use next year.

Playmakers! Theatre School

Playmakers! is a registered Canadian charity that sponsors a number of annual festivals and events, including a youth Shakespeare festival, the Ghosts of Stratford Theatrical Walking Tours and the Stratford Lantern Parade.

Since 1993, Playmakers! Theatre School has offered theatre training and performance opportunities to children and youth in Stratford and surrounding area, developing skills and memories to last a lifetime.
