City of Martensville

Martensville is located eight kilometers north of Saskatoon. One of the fastest growing cities in Western Canada, Martensville is home to over 11,000 residents, 75% of which are under the age of 45.

Residents say the quality of life, friendly people, small-town atmosphere and proximity to Saskatoon are the top reasons they love living in Martensville. They feel it’s a safe city with an inviting and welcoming community-feel.

The current mayor of the City of Martensville, Kent Muench, was elected in October 2016. He and the Martensville City Council, along with City Administration, are working hard to ensure Martensville maintains its small community feel while offering the services and economic development residents want.

Over 400 licensed businesses operate in Martensville ranging from service industries to professional services, transportation and manufacturing. In recent years, commercial development in Martensville has exploded with businesses including Canadian Tire, Tim Horton’s, Dairy Queen, Canalta Hotels, Second Cup, Pharmasave, and a Co-op gas bar and convenience store. Businesses also benefit from competitive taxation policy.

Sometimes known as ‘The Community of Lakes’ because of the ponds and creeks that have developed and formed through the storm drainage system, Martensville provides a lifestyle full of opportunities for recreation and leisure. Parks with winding trails and numerous recreational and service programs and clubs, an active volunteer community, a Sports Centre, Community Centre, outdoor pool and aquatic centre, and athletic pavilion all contribute to the City’s vibrant atmosphere.
