The Awakening – Monster Month in Elora

The Awakening signals the beginning of Elora’s Monster Month and days filled with delightfully spooky events.

Join us in the evening of Friday, October 3rd as we unleash the Spirit of Monster Month. Music, magic, and buskers lead up to the thrilling moment when we set the spirit free. Our ghostly emcee will share the calendar of amazing events that will lure you to prowl around the village, discovering where monsters lurk, and happy mayhem ensues. Bear witness as the Spirit senses that it's time and arises through the fog and smoke to breathe life into the Monsters.

Yes, the monsters will have already escaped their home at the Twilight Zoo and positioned themselves around town to observe the spooky fun, but the energy that releases their spirit happens with the Awakening. Be part of the revelry and fun, and join the dancers to celebrate the beginning of Monster Month. Start by taking a walking tour of the Monsters, learn their names (or make up your own), and uncover the mystery and the history of how they all leave their Twilight Zoo to drape the town with their creepy presence.

This is the perfect beginning to all the activities that make Monster Month so much fun. This is a free event for everyone.

We mobilize awareness about food insecurity by creating fun and welcoming events that entertain and inspire. We raise funds to support our local food bank. We strive to work with a wide variety of community partners to create fabulous events that showcase what Centre Wellington area has to offer. All our programming is designed to entice all of the senses. To accomplish that our events incorporate food and drink, provided by local restaurants, caterers, growers, and retailers.
