À propos

Explore Lake Country’s history with our Heritage Driving Tour. Winfield’s settlement history goes back to the spring of 1871 when Thomas Wood, of Bonavista, Newfoundland, arrived after dissolving a ranching partnership with Cornelius O’Keefe and Thomas Greenhow at the head of Okanagan Lake. He pre-empted 160 acres of land at the south end of what became known as Wood Lake where he established a cattle ranch, naming his ranch house ‘Winfield Lodge’.

The Heritage Driving Tour is a half-day circle tour with fourteen heritage stops and additional optional stops at local wineries and points of interest. The tour begins at either the District of Lake Country Municipal Building, 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Rd (1st stop) or at Gatzke's Farm Market at Pelmewash Parkway and Oyama Road (11th stop / 31st pin on the tour).
