The afternoon will kick off with an engaging participatory workshop featuring a local artisan, Susanne Agustin of Itinakda.Ph. Originally from the Philippines, Susanne began her venture into artisan crafts in 2020 during the pandemic, which led to the establishment of her small business. She has since brought her unique string bracelets to Canada and is now sharing her craft in Regina. Itinakda, which means "destined" or "it is time," reflects her journey. Participants will have the opportunity to register on-site and create their own unique string bracelet under Susanne's guidance.

Following this workshop, there will be a presentation by another esteemed local contemporary visual artist, Patrick Fernandez. Hailing from Pangasinan, Philippines, Patrick's vibrant paintings are characterized by their use of symbolism and reimagined folklore imagery as a means of storytelling. His works are deeply rooted in personal experiences, addressing themes of displacement and adaptation. Patrick, a valued member of our community, will share insights into the Philippines and the inspiration behind his artwork. We are excited to welcome you to this enriching event.
