Visit the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum for FREE on September 27th & 28th, 2025!

The Museum's permanent exhibition, "Our Story", explores 9,000 years of stories from Indigenous history to the tourism boom of the 1970s. The gallery contains such significant artefacts as a powder horn belonging to Chief Joseph Brant, the Indian Department Coatee worn by Daniel Servos during the American Revolutionary War, uniforms from the War of 1812 and other items from Niagara's past.

In our temporary gallery, visitors can see "Curators: Our Eras Tour". This year we celebrate our 130th Anniversary, and there is no way that we could mark this occasion without celebrating our Curators and the fascinating items they have collected over the years. Our feature exhibit is inspired by Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, so those "Swifties" out there will notice some lyrics and references for a little fun.

In this exhibition we are exhibiting items collected by our earliest curators, like Janet Carnochan, alongside those collected by our current curator, Sarah Kaufman, and everyone in between. These curators have helped amass a collection of over 50,000 items with local, provincial, and national significance. And our collection echoes their passion for preserving our town’s history, in all its eras. This is a love story (of artefacts)…so baby, just say yes!
