Sinfonia Toronto
Sinfonia Toronto, now in its 23rd season, has toured twice in Europe, in the US, South America and China, receiving glowing reviews. It has released four CD’s, including a JUNO Award winner, and performs in many Ontario cities. Its extensive repertoire includes major string orchestra works of the 18th through 21st centuries, and it has premiered many new works. Under the baton of Nurhan Arman, the orchestra’s performances present outstanding international guest artists and prominent Canadian musicians.
The orchestra takes their interactive ‘Concerts under Construction’ program into TDSB schools when in-person visits are safe, and during the past year also launched the Digital Inclusion Project, providing free concert videos to 27 long-term care homes in Ontario and three non-profit community music programs , supplemented by pre-concert and post-concert student seminars, hosted online by the orchestra’s musicians a few days before and after each video release.
