Film, Public Talk and Environmental Education Event about the Salish Sea
À propos
Join Georgia Straight Alliance (GSA) and the Sidewalk Cellist for a wonderful afternoon with a screening of "Shared Waters, Shared Crisis" (a beautiful 30 min film that tells the story of the Salish Sea and its iconic inhabitant) as well as an engaging talk focused on hope for the future of the Salish Sea. GSA will discuss some of the most pressing issues facing marine habitats and coastal communities, and ways that we can take action to work towards a just and sustainable future in this breathtaking region.
Weaving the spellbinding and sonorous melodies and songwriting of the Sidewalk Cellist into this event helps us refract the lessons and wisdom of conservation and environmentalism through one of the oldest forms of storytelling: music. Clara's work provides a stunning soundscape and lyrical wit that provides an important commentary on what living sustainably in the Salish Sea could mean, as well as a sonic ode to the beauty of living in the Pacific Northwest.
*25 seats for community. Pre-registration is required to attend the afternoon concert, film presentation and public talk with the Georgia Strait Alliance.
