À propos

The Artists for Conservation Festival is a multi-day nature-themed arts and culture event that immerses visitors in a cohesive blend of visual art, musical and First Nations cultural performances, art workshops/activities, plein-air sketching, live music, art demos and films. A centerpiece of the event is the premiere showing of the world's leading conservation-themed art exhibit, featuring artists from BC, across Canada and from around the world. The festival returns to VanDusen Botanical Garden from September 25 to 28 in Vancouver as the primary programming base. Programming is free with standard admission (VanDusen Botanical Garden) with easy access from the street.

A special Festival Preview Weekend returns to Maplewood Flats Conservancy in North Vancouver, in collaboration with Wild Bird Trust of BC, on September 20 and 21. Featuring the opening of the 7th annual "Pacific Coast Portraits" - a curated print exhibit by members of Artists for Conservation - remaining on exhibit through October 4. Weekend program highlights include live music, painting demonstrations by leading local artists and aboriginal carvers, live birds of prey encounter and special cultural performance by members of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. The art exhibit features some of the top nature and wildlife artists in the Lower Mainland and across BC with proceeds supporting the Wild Bird Trust of BC. All programming is free and no admission required to enter the conservancy, which is filled with beautiful nature trails.
