Jugalbandi is a duet performance in Indian classical music that involves two equally-matched soloists. In jugalbandi, both musicians are leading (as compared to other duets in which one person may be leading with the other accompanying). Jugalbandi can be performed with classical vocals, or various classical instruments.
Here, Rushat and Avi, our junior teachers at Jayanti's Tabla Academy in Milton, ON, present a Teen Tal Jugalbandi Composition consisting of various parans, tukdas, kayadas, and paltas and tihai in Teen Tal. Rushat and Avi put together this mix themselves!
