À propos

The first of two screenings from Direct Theatre Collective as part of Culture Days 2022.

Premiering in 2022, Where Women Gather is a hybrid theatre-film documentary project, following the creative journey of the award-winning play HYSTERIA, and its exploration of post-metoo-society sexual politics, female empowerment, the incessant integration of technology into our lives, and the necessity for communication and community amongst survivors of sexual assault.

Featuring Jill Raymond, Isa Sanchez, Jenna Grubaugh, Lauren Martin, Nita Bowerman, Eleanor Felton, Florence Reiher and Kapila Rego. Directed by Eva Tavares.

Direct Theatre Collective are a passionate group of creators living and working on the unceded, ancestral territories of Coast Salish peoples of the sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsawwassen), Kwantlen, Stz'uminus, xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Direct Theatre Collective is a female-led, multi-award-winning not-for-profit organisation committed to producing works that uplift marginalized voices, provoke important discussion around socio-political issues, and believe in art as a vehicle for social change.

Includes themes of Sexual Assault, Consent, Alcohol Consumption, Swearing. Due to the content, we recommend an age restriction of 16+
